Meet Our Team

We are now accepting Registration for the 2024/2025 School Year Term

Our Educators are a great collaborative team that works hard to design a fun and safe supportive environment for each individual child’s growth and development stages ages 3-9 years old. Each educator has a wide range of skills and experience and holds an Early Childhood Certificate, Early Childhood Assistant Certificate or Responsible Adult Certificate as well as first aid: CPR and AED, and a clear criminal record check.

Megan Grijalva

Owner
Early Childhood Educator

Megan was born and raised in Fernie BC and began babysitting when she was 14 years old. She always had an interest in the Early Years and how children grow and develop to make sense of the world around them. She began her career when she decided she wanted to further her skills to make a positive difference in the lives of young children, and fell in love with the energy of the classroom atmosphere.

When not working, Megan can be found camping or enjoying outdoor activities with her Husband and English bulldog Chunky Man.

Morgan Emslie

3-5 Year Group Care Program Teacher
Early Childhood Assistant

Morgan moved from Vancouver Island to the Kootenays almost 10 years ago. She used to be an equipment operator, but after having two children of her own, and watching her many nieces and nephews grow she knew she had a passion with working in the Early Years field. So, she decided to peruse and completed her Early Childhood Assistant Certificate in December 2020 and since then worked at Live Laugh Learn Daycare.

When not working, Morgan can be found baking, crafting with her Circuit or enjoying outdoor family activities.

Candace Verhaeghe

Candance came to us after working over 15 years in the residential Care & Assisted living field as a registered care aid with seniors. She enjoys the day-to-day routine and has taking an interest with children after her daughter Megan opened up her own daycare in Fernie. She enjoys the energy of children, and loves the spark for life they have.

When not working, Candace can be found doing nails as she is also a certified nail technician in Fernie. As well as being out and boating at the lake.

Early Childhood Educator I/T

Darlene is a long-time resident of Sparwood, and has been educating early years for the past 15 years. And 5 years ago Darlene completed her Infant and Toddler Diploma too. Fun Fact: Darlene actually has owned her own facility in Sparwood years ago, and after making the change of closing and working in Fernie, she became Mrs. Megans mentor and lead educator for all of Megan’s schooling. When not working, Mikaela can be found horseback riding, listening to music, and hanging out at her dad’s gym Body Garage in Fernie.

Taylor Tracey

School Aged & 3-5 Year Group Care Teacher

Taylor is born and raised in Jaffray B.C and started babysitting at 12 years old. She has loved working with children and loves to watch them learn and grow. With the encouragement from her cousin Megan, she completed her Early Childhood Educator Assistant right out of high school and has been working in preschools, daycares and nannying in and around the Elk Valley ever since.

When not working, Taylor can be found riding her horses, camping and spending time with family and friends at the lake! Taylor is also currently studying Equine Remedial Therapy for the next 4 years!
